ALCHEMY OF POTTERY: EARTH, WATER, AIR AN FIRE

The vessels have a capacity of 500 liters and are buried inside the roman villa of La Verna. Made by the potter Carles Llarch of Mata Vella of Font-Rubí (Alt Penedès), using top quality clays, enjoying in solitude and often in silence, as he says, the craft of potter.

The ceramic vessel has a clay composition and provides porosity, it has several names:

Kvevri, according to the wine tradition of Georgia;

Pithos, according to the phoenician-punic, greek and iberian culture;

Dolium, according to roman culture.

Amphora, jug, jar, ceramic tub, as it is generally known today.
